Kigali, Rwanda’s capital City not being far from Uganda’s Bwindi Forest, it’s commonly possible to do a gorilla tour via Kigali airport as both entry and departure after the gorilla trek in Uganda.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali, transfer to Uganda’s Bwindi Forest
Immediately upon arrival at Kigali airport, our waiting driver guide will receive you, briefs you about the trip and you will then after set off to Uganda’s side. Time allowing, you will first visit the Genocide Memorial Centre in Kigali for a reflection and remembrance of the victims of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. At this site, over 250,000 genocide victims are remembered. You will then have lunch in Kigali and drive to cross to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park where you will reach in the evening. Overnight stay and dinner at Chameleon Hill Lodge, Gorilla Safari Lodge or Clouds Lodge (Full Board)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Wake early, take breakfast, transfer to park offices for briefing about gorilla trekking, and then walk to the forest for a real gorilla bonanza. Upon meeting the gorillas, happiness and awe will cover up your face. You will take pictures; ask your guide some questions as you observe the gorillas keenly to your delight. After an hour at the gorilla spot, leave the forest and return to the lodge for a restful stay. Overnight stay and dinner at Chameleon Hill Lodge, Gorilla Safari Lodge or Clouds Lodge (Full Board)
Day 3: Drive Back to Kigali Airport for departure.
In the morning after breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you gently back to Kigali Airport to catch up with departure flight. End of the Tour.
