GORILLA TREKKING CERTIFICATE
A Gorilla Trekking Certificate is a document given to tourists after successfully trekking mountain gorillas. A certificate is an evidence that you did a gorilla tour and completed it. This kind of certificate indicates your name, a gorilla group as well as the park and country.
Uganda has mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Rwanda’s mountain gorillas are found in the Volcanoes National Park where similar gorillas are found in the Virunga National Park in Congo.
You can not recieve a certificate unless you book a gorilla permit first so that you get access to the park for trekking. In Uganda, such certificates are awarded by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
After identifying a gorilla tracking date basing on your safari and flight programme, you will then buy a permit thorugh your safari operator. When you arrive in the country, you will be transfered to the park for the gorilla adventure. Gorilla tracking usually starts in the morning with a transfer from your lodge to the park offices for briefing. This briefing zeroes on the gorilla trekking rules and regulations set by the wildlife authority to protect the primates and humans.
